You packed your bags and then you left me in the middle night.
I couldn’t stop myself from being sad, though I knew the reason why.

All this talk of family, what lies ahead for you and I,
made you think about your mother and the way you made her cry.

If we were gonna be together then you’d have to make things right.
So you went to see your mother, returning to her side.

I knew for you, it wasn’t easy to just leave without goodbyes,
but you needed to go back there and you weren’t wasting time.

All our friends were angry the day that I came back, and you were nowhere to be seen.
They didn’t understand how I could say that it’s okay and why I ever let you leave.

But knew it had to happen, this is how it had to be.
Because I knew that once you worked things out that you’d come back to me.

When you returned we would get married, we’d have our entire lives
to live and be together so this is not goodbye.
